| Blazers Lose Out On Hedo, Play Hard Ball With Roy, Attempt To Sign Millsap | |
It’s been quite the off-season for the Portland Trailblazers. After looking as if they were going to snatch up Hedo Turkoglu, that plan fell apart. Whether it was something on their behalf or something on his behalf, something went completely wrong and he decided to take his services north of the border. With Hedo off of the board, Portland then shifted their target to Jazz restricted free agent, Paul Millsap. Portland made him quite an offer, one that has the Jazz thinking whether or not they can afford to match it. If Utah were to try and match Portland’s offer, they’d have to take out a loan of $10.3 Million to do so and that is where the problem occurs. If Millsap is signed, Portland is expected to put LaMarcus Aldridge on the trading block. Would be quite a bold move considering Aldridge’s development, but it’s apparent that Portland wants a big man who plays in the paint and not on the perimeter. That’s not the only bold move the Blazers would be making. Reports say that the franchise is trying to play hard ball with star wing Brandon Roy. Roy and his camp want a maximum extension and most people would agree that he is more than deserving of it. However, the Blazers front office isn’t trying to give it to him right now and are trying to get him to sign a cheaper extension. If Brandon Roy isn’t worth a maximum extension, then who is? He is perhaps the best young wing in the NBA (exlcuding LeBron) and you’d have to question the Blazers decision making in this process. Posted in Uncategorized | No Comments »
